Report a Policy Violation
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
Artist's Comments
A design made for one of two events/exhibitions my professor is curating. One was Rome-Dubai and the other Berlin-Dubai. This is for Berlin-Dubai and was used as the cover for the catalogue packages. I admire that professor for skipping all the dirty work and making his students do it instead. It may not look it, but this little baby gave me a lot of stress!
The piece is based on the Berlin Wall (and all its graffiti glory). I took pictures of students on campus and made them look as if they were interacting with the wall, to emphasize the crossing of two cultures (Berlin and Dubai). I originally wanted all the students to be Emarati (people of the UAE), but my professor decided against it since Dubai has a lot of diversity anyway. The graffiti was drawn by hand first, then manipulated in Photoshop. I would have given a link to the other half (Rome-Dubai) but the designer doesn't have it on her dA account. Shame! |
