A design made for one of two events/exhibitions my professor is curating. One was Rome-Dubai and the other Berlin-Dubai. This is for Berlin-Dubai and was used as the cover for the catalogue packages. I admire that professor for skipping all the dirty work and making his students do it instead. It may not look it, but this little baby gave me a lot of stress!
The piece is based on the Berlin Wall (and all its graffiti glory). I took pictures of students on campus and made them look as if they were interacting with the wall, to emphasize the crossing of two cultures (Berlin and Dubai). I originally wanted all the students to be Emarati (people of the UAE), but my professor decided against it since Dubai has a lot of diversity anyway. The graffiti was drawn by hand first, then manipulated in Photoshop.
I would have given a link to the other half (Rome-Dubai) but the designer doesn't have it on her dA account. Shame!
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
